SMX Motor Cross, Elvetham, Hampshire

I was lucky enough to attend the SMX Motorcross event last Sunday up at Elvetham in Hampshire, as part of a visiting group from the Lymington Camera Club.
It was my first ever live action motor cross, so I was very excited to see the event, camera in hand.
It was a fast-paced, action-packed event, that was noisy, busy, but full of colour, smells, dirt, dust and many, many riders.
I loved it.
During the few hours I was there watching the different races and walking around the extensive race track, I managed to take over a thousand images (a small number compared to others).
When shooting fast-paced action sports, I use the multiple frames per second option on my camera, shooting at 6 frames per second. In this way you capture 6 images as each riders shoots past, and hopefully one or more of the images give you the result you are looking for. If only it was that simple.
